The Louisiana Propane Gas Association and the National Propane Gas Foundation award scholarships to deserving students pursuing any course of study at two- or four-year colleges or technical, trade or vocational schools.
2024’s winning receipt of the Marie Daniels Memorial Scholarship is Louisiana Tech University sophomore Xavier Session.
Session is a Bossier City native and the son of a long-time Ferrellgas employee. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
“I would like to thank you sincerely for trusting me with this scholarship and I promise I will fulfill every last dime,” Session remarks.
The Marie Daniels Memorial Scholarship, named after an influential Louisiana figure in the propane industry, annually allots $1000-2000 to lucky students who apply and meet the criteria.
“Every year, NPGF awards 100+ scholarships and we are growing because of the generosity of the propane industry. Since 1994, the NPGF Scholarship Fund has awarded more than two million dollars in scholarships to 1500+ children of NPGA member company employees,” according to the National Propane Gas Association.
Just this year, NPGF awarded 114 scholarships for a total of $159,000, secured with their fundraising efforts.
Congratulations and good luck, Xavier!
